Endometriosis is a mystery to modern medicine. More than 176 million girls and women in the U.S. suffer from it, but the cause is unknown. That has never made sense to me. And it probably doesn’t to you either if you’ve got it! This unenviable condition affects up to 15% of menstruating women between the ages of 25 and 44.
What is endometriosis? Plain and simple: it’s when the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus is found somewhere else. It may find itself in the pelvis, lower abdomen, or even in other places in the body, such as the diaphragm. Gynecologists point to genetic, environmental, and inflammatory causes. If that sounds vague to you, it should!
The symptoms of endometriosis are no fun:
- heavy, painful periods
- abdominal or low back pain
- infertility (sometimes permanently)
Not only that, but it is not unusual for diagnosis to take three to fifteen years. Yes, you heard that right.
And the treatment? From a naturopathic and homeopathic point of view, conventional treatment is barbaric. You’re either thrown into premature menopause to slow down the process. Or you have surgery. But surgery causes even more scar tissue and, more often than not, needs to be repeated.
If you or someone you know is diagnosed with endometriosis, please point her (or you) in the direction of homeopathy! Sooner rather than later.
You may also want to make some changes in your diet:
- Cut down on animal products, including dairy. Vegan is in!
- Go for lots of whole grains, fiber, and fresh, organic fruits and veggies.
- Chug down at least six glasses of water a day.
- Eliminate caffeine, sugar, and alcohol.
- Add wild salmon, mackerel, and cod or take fish oil capsules.
- Eat 1 T ground flaxseed/day (I toss in my smoothie) or take 1 T flaxseed oil.
- Black currant, borage, or evening primrose oil, essential fatty acid sources, may be helpful.
This is Janine’s story, which appears in my book, Whole Woman Homeopathy: A Safe, Effective, Natural Alternative to Drugs, Hormones and Surgery.
“About two years after beginning homeopathy, I discovered that I had endometriosis, and that it had probably been with me for a long time. I truly believe that homeopathy slowed the growth of the disease before it became debilitating or caused extensive damage to my reproductive organs. The evidence of this is the almost complete disappearance of severe menstrual cramping, which is often a result of endometriosis. Thanks to homeopathy, I was able to become pregnant. My husband and I now have a beautiful baby girl to cherish.”
Before you do hormones or surgery, you owe it to yourself to TRY HOMEOPATHY! It’s totally safe and natural, so you have nothing to lose and lots to gain.
